I am pretty excited that this amazing selection of essays that I have had the honor to edit is finally coming out! Essays on Women in Esotercism: Beyond Seeresses and Sea Priestesses will be out at the end of this year. It features not only histories about key women in modern esotericism and occult history, it also highlights the scholarship of women writing about esotericism. There are some groundbreaking essays in this volume and I know all of the contributors are looking forward to it being out there in the world.
I had the most wonderful time talking with boundary breaking artist Tai Shani for the MIT Podcast. Ithell Colquhoun was the starting point, but we moved into feminism, the problems with the elite construction of occult practice and how we can envision a more compassionate and community focused esoteric world. I hope we get to continue this conversation!
I am thrilled to be doing a Q&A session with Director Halina Dyrschka about her wonderful film about the life and work of Hilma af Kilnt, Beyond the Visible. We will be in conversation October 30, 7:30-9:30 pm GMT, sponsored by the incredible Horse Hospital in London and Modern Films. Tickets are available here.
