Writings and Musings on Colquhoun during the Pandemic

Although Genius of the Fern Loved Gully has been delayed for several months due to the pandemic, I have still been a pretty busy bee, contributing to some wonderful projects that might provide some tasty morsels while we wait on the book.

First up is  “The magic surrealism of Ithell Colquhoun”, a short introductory piece I did for the Stories section of ArtUK, the largest repository of British art on the Internet.

I contributed a slightly meatier piece on Colquhoun's interest in the 4th Dimension for the beautifully designed online Botanical Mind exhibition organized by Camden Arts Centre. My small contribution, “Ithell Colquhoun’s Extra Dimensional Consciousness” , is in the Astrological Botany section. Please be sure to check out all the sections and lose yourself in the sensual colors and patterns. It is such a rich and multifaceted project with podcasts too!

I also had a juicy, long ranging chat with the fabulous Christina Harrington, owner and magical inspiration at the famous Treadwell's Bookshop in London, where we covered not only Colquhoun but also folklore, witchcraft, the Far Right and all sorts of good things. Because Christina and I could chat forever, it's a two parter found here and here.

Finally, way back in April I had the pleasure of chatting with the wonderful and joyful poet Timothy Liu about Colquhoun’s work and the ways in which she inspires us for Poets House in NYC. Check out the program on the archive. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff at Poets House. I just loved working with them, and hope to visit them in person as soon as I can.
